The primary objective of a State Nursing Manager is providing clinical advice, direction and the delivery of quality nursing services, in accordance with relevant standards and legislative requirements within SA.
Reporting to the SA State Manager, this position is responsible for:
- Effectively providing clinical direction and expertise to Centres’ Nurses
- Partnering with Centres to foster a culture of clinical excellence and safety of nursing services to patients
- Supporting Practice Managers, in the selection and recruitment of quality Nurses as required
- Partnering with nursing staff to implement relevant IPN policies, procedures and systems within the Treatment Room and Centre
- Supporting with implementation of company initiatives such as Nurse led clinics and health management projects
- Effectively communicate changes in nursing requirements including company policies and procedures with relevant parties
- Proactively partner with National Manager- Clinical Operations and Services, to develop and embed policies, procedures and systems within the Organisation
- Proactively partner with the National Clinical Governance team to investigate and resolve clinical incidents and key clinical risks
- Ensuring high quality clinical competency of all Nurses working within Centres
- Partnering with Centres to meet the relevant standards, legislative requirements and best practice principles across all areas in the Treatment Room and Centre including but not limited to infection prevention and control, equipment maintenance, sterilisation and cold chain monitoring
- Conducting delegate and/or coordinate the completion of annual Treatment Room audits and assist in follow up of non-compliance issues
- Assisting in the communication of state-based health information as relevant
- Providing guidance to centres regarding medical supplies, consumables and equipment to align with National consumables and equipment consolidation
- Developing positive working relationship with fellow State Nursing Managers to establish and monitor national company standards and procedures
- Developing positive working relationships with State Manager and State Operations teams and communicate clinical updates and concerns to the State Manager and State Operations team in a timely and effective manner, including weekly in the state operation meetings
- Be the escalation point for Practice Managers on clinical issues
Do you have the qualities that we are looking for?
- At least five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
- Previous experience in management and/or leadership positions
- Current Nurse Registration (AHPRA)
- Excellent communication skills
- High standards of service quality
- Proven multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- A driver’s license
