About the role
Meals On Wheels Central Coast is seeking a motivated and community-focused Community Restaurant Coordinator to join our team in Bateau Bay, NSW on a contract basis (6 months). In this role, you will play a crucial part in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our community restaurant, ensuring the provision of high-quality meals and an exceptional dining experience for our local clients.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage the daily operations of the community restaurant, including menu planning, food ordering, and volunteer roster coordination

  • Oversee the training and supervision of our team of volunteers

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and food handling regulations

  • Liaise with clients, their families, and other stakeholders to understand and address their needs

  • Maintain accurate records and reporting on the restaurant's performance and client feedback

  • Collaborate with the broader Meals On Wheels Central Coast team to identify opportunities for improvement and growth

What we're looking for

  • Relevant Food Safety and Handling Certification is highly desired

  • Experience in a similar community-focused or hospitality role

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for providing exceptional customer service

  • A deep understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, as well as experience in managing a team

  • A genuine commitment to supporting the elderly and disabled members of our community
