Regional Livestock Exchange Team Leader

Are you passionate about the livestock industry and ready to lead a dynamic team? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join Council's Regional Livestock Exchange team. This role involves overseeing the supervision, administration and operations of the Swan Hill Regional Livestock Exchange.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise Daily Operations : Ensure the Livestock Exchange to ensure it's well-presented for sales.
- Organise Efficiently: Manage staff, materials, and equipment to complete tasks efficiently, within budget, and on time.
- Financial Oversight: Assist in developing annual budgets and monitor financial performance against the budget.
- Provide Advice: Provide guidance on livestock handling to Agents, Vendors, and stakeholders according to standards.
- Market Insight: Advise on marketing trends and promote business growth.
- Maintain Standards: Ensure NSQA and MSA accreditations are upheld.
What we are looking for:
- Industry Experience: Proven experience in saleyards management and the livestock selling industry.
- Knowledgeable: Familiarity with NLIS, NSQA Program, and animal welfare standards.
- Safety First: Experience with OH&S standards in saleyards.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using maintenance equipment (welding, grinders, skid steer loaders).
- Certified: Accreditation in livestock handling and humane destruction, with a license for firearms or humane destruction equipment.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in industry and office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Report Writing: Ability to write concise and accurate reports.
- Police Check: A current Police Check, no older than six months is essential before employment.
You must also be able to work effectively and efficiently in a pressured and at times demanding environment.
What we can offer you
- Competitive Salary: This permanent full time position attracts a total remuneration of $85,646 (inclusive of 14.5% superannuation) plus paid on-call and overtime (this includes industry allowances).
- Generous Superannuation: Superannuation is paid at 14.5%.
