Seeking qualified support workers living in or willing to travel to our areas of demand:
-
Cowes, Corinella, Lang Lang, Nyora, Toora, Foster.
For these areas, a Certificate III or higher in Disability, Aged Care, or Individual Support is required.
Additionally, we are seeking unqualified support workers in the following areas:
-
Wonthaggi, Dalyston, Leongatha, Korrumburra, Mirboo North and Inverloch.
For these areas, we offer shifts in domestic assistance, cleaning, and limited transport and companion care. No qualifications required.

Your role as a support worker
As a Support Worker with Simply Helping Gippsland South and West, you will join a team of carers responsible for caring and supporting elderly people and people with disabilities in the home. Your role will see you providing companionship and emotional support and where possible, promote independence and community participation to help our services users live with greater agency and integrity.
A day in the life as a Support Worker with Simply Helping Gippsland South and West may see you support our clients with;

In-home support with health issues and daily living tasks such as washing, dressing, eating, transport and budgeting

Assist clients with domestic activities such as eating meals and showering

Provide companionship and support during daily activities
-
Cook and serve meals, clean premises, wash, iron and perform other household tasks
-
Assist people with self-medication or more complex care programs involving tracheostomy, catheter care and more (for those who have a minimum Cert III qualification in Disability Support/Aged Care)
What we're looking for
-
Certificate III or higher in Disability, Individual Supports, Aged Care, Nursing or equivalent (ideal but not mandatory.) If not qualified, the bulk of shifts we can offer will be cleaning (domestic assistance/home help) and limited transport and companion care/respite shifts.

A caring individual who is flexible and understanding,

Commitment to the rights of people with disabilities to live dignified lives

Good communication skills

Able to accept responsibility

Able to work as part of a team, cope with the physical demands of the job, and perform domestic duties efficiently

Experience in supporting those with mental health issues and behavioural challenges will be highly regarded.

Flexible work hours willing to travel to the Bass Coast, South Gippsland, La Trobe & Philip Island areas.
Requirements:

3 COVID vaccinations, NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, and Police Check.
