Description:
The Opportunity:As a Transfer Station Attendant, you will oversee the receipt of waste and recyclables, maintain security of the site, control site litter, and assist with the management of data collection.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in resource recovery, diverting recyclables from landfill
- Ensure bins are filled to ensure maximum capacity and sorted appropriately
- Control vehicles, inspect loads and direct customers to appropriate drop-off locations
- Collect customer cash and EFTPOS payments and record data on iPad
- Ensure the site is regularly tidied and daily checklists are completed
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations, safety standards, and Council policies.
In this position, you will work three days per fortnight: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday - 8.00 am to 11.00 am, one week on one week off.
What we are looking for:
- Experience in operating a transfer station or similar site
- Strong customer service, cash handling, and bank reconciliation skills.
- Confident to use iPad, EFTPOS and other customer service software
- Knowledge of East Gippsland waste & recycling
- Physically able to perform the duties of the role, while managing workload efficiently.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and pre-employment medical check. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
