The Role
We are on the hunt for an experienced Warehouse Manager for our Bairnsdale site. Reporting to the General Manager of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the storage, handling, and distribution of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods in compliance with food safety standards and company policies. The role will also include but not be limited to;
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Maintain organised, clean, and temperature-controlled storage areas as per regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to align warehouse activities with operational demands.
- Manage and monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Implement first-in, first-out (FIFO) or first-expired, first-out (FEFO) methods to ensure freshness and minimise waste
- Ensure all warehouse operations comply with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, SQF, BRC).
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and address risks related to contamination or pest control.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with transport providers
- Optimise warehouse layout to streamline loading, unloading, and internal material movement.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
- Implement waste reduction strategies.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and warehouse costs.
- Support audits and inspections conducted by regulatory bodies or certification agencies. Develop and manage the warehouse budget, focusing on cost control and efficiency improvements.
- Address workplace hazards and incidents promptly as well as drive safety.
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in Warehouse Management, ideally working in the food manufacturing industry as well as have the following.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of warehouse management experience, ideally in the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills with a focus on scalability and innovation.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP software.
- Familiarity with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, SQF, BRC).
- Knowledge of temperature-controlled storage and transportation requirements.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to address complex operational challenges and implement sustainable solutions.
