Are you an Occupational Therapist with a passion for providing occupational therapy services to consumers and their families? We are inviting qualified Occupational Therapists to join our Katoomba Mental Health team. This position is part of an integrated adult (18-65 years) community mental health service.

In this role, you will ensure provision of care coordination and contribute in a variety of other ways to the overall functioning of the mental health service as required. The incumbent will positively and proactively contribute to strengthening partnerships between the mental health service and other service partners both internal and external to the district.

Selection Criteria:
  • Current registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist with the with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated capabilities for recovery-oriented mental health care and a commitment to the development of recovery-oriented approaches to occupational therapy in mental health.
  • Experience in designing and implementing client centred rehabilitation plans, managing complex client care, and participating in discharge planning processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and carers with a commitment and understanding of recovery principles in mental health service provision.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act, 2007.
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal communication with consumers, teams, and agencies, with experience in clinical documentation and formal reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of relevant evidence-based practice resources to guide decision making and commitment to quality improvement.
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to use for work travel purposes
