About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

The Senior Health & Safety Advisor will coordinate site level Health and Safety reporting requirements and provide technical expertise in the development and delivery of Health and Safety strategy, policy and practices. This includes Hygiene management, implementation support and monitoring the outcomes of programs to determine their efficiency and business outcomes.
As part of the Cadia Integrated Tailings Project team, you will have highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare complex project plans, written reports and presentations and demonstrated experience implementing, executing, and supporting site hygiene programs.
Other responsibilities include:
- Ensure relevant Health and Hygiene systems, infrastructure and requirements are in readiness for operations.
- Develop programs including Visible Felt Leadership interactions, Critical Control Verifications and Field to ensure operational safety presence
- Ensure the Project team members and contractor staff are adequately trained to relevant safety standards
- Be proactive in Risk Assessment Workshops and the set-up of specific High Risk Work activities
- Demonstrate safety leadership with the highest professional and ethical standards ensuring all actions are transparent and in accordance with Company Policies and Standards
- Demonstrate technical and conceptual excellence in anticipating construction problems and guiding the team to deliver a safe working environment
- Implementing SHE audits across the Project, capturing trends, communicating and the implementation of lessons learned
- Managing the H&S risk management process and provide advice on how to minimise risks across all the project
The ideal candidate will have experience in mining or heavy industry and have knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety Act and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations
You will also possess the following:
- Tertiary qualification in the discipline of Occupational Hygiene
- Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety or equivalent
- Experience with strategic risk management and exceedance incident investigations
- Understanding/exposure to Health and Safety Hygiene practices, processes, and disciplines
Please note: This is a Fixed Term opportunity until July 2026 that supports either FIFO or residential, working a 12 on, 9 days off roster rotation.
