We’re on the hunt for a Chef Apprentice to join our team, helping with kitchen operations, wage costing, and daily prep work across our restaurants.
Who We Are: Bird’s Nest Restaurant is a modern Japanese Yakitori Restaurant. We have four restaurants across Brisbane, and you would have the opportunity to work at any of our branches in FORTITUDE VALLEY, WEST END, PORTSIDE, and EVERTON PARK.
Please specify in your application which branch you would like to work at.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assisting with food prep and cooking alongside experienced chefs.
- Helping with menu planning, sourcing ingredients, and understanding food costs.
- Learning the ins and outs of kitchen management, including wage costing and budgeting.
- Maintaining hygiene and food safety standards.
- Working as part of a team to deliver top-quality dishes.
What We’re Looking For:
- Someone studying Cert III in Commercial Cookery
- Someone with a genuine love for food and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Good attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- A team player who thrives in a busy environment.
- Some basic kitchen knowledge is great, but not essential—we’ll teach you!
