Are you a natural leader ready to take the reins of a high-performing workshop? Sulzer Australia is looking for a Workshop Manager to drive efficiency, lead a skilled team, and deliver top-tier solutions at our Cardiff Service Centre .
Why This Role?
You'll be at the heart of operations, ensuring smooth workflows, optimizing production, and making an impact across multiple industries. Reporting to the Service Centre Manager , you'll lead a team of Fitters, Project Engineers, Trade Assistants, and Apprentices —around 30 in total —to achieve outstanding results.
What You'll Be Doing
✅ Leading & Supporting - Inspire and guide a diverse team to deliver high-quality work.
✅ Optimizing Workflows - Forecast workshop loading, streamline processes, and boost efficiency.
✅ Mastering Production - Develop schedules, manage work orders, and keep projects on track.
✅ Cost & Budget Control - Keep jobs on time, on budget, and up to Sulzer's high standards.
✅ Safety & Compliance - Champion QESH systems for a safe and efficient workplace.
✅ Developing Talent - Mentor apprentices and upskill your team for long-term success.
What We're Looking For
✔ Trade Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
✔ Expertise in electro-mechanical rotating equipment .
✔ 5+ years in a supervisory role, leading teams in a workshop environment.
✔ Strong communication skills to engage with internal teams and clients.
✔ Top-tier time management to keep projects moving efficiently.
