Role Overview

The Youth Space Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operations and strategic management of the Casino Youth Space, a vital community-owned and operated centre being sponsored by the Casino RSM. This role is dynamic and collaborative, requiring a person who is supportive, organised, and thinks outside of the box. The coordinator will engage with young people, volunteers, stakeholders, and community organisations to foster an inclusive, vibrant space that facilitates opportunities for youth development and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Casino Youth Space, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality youth activities and services.

· Manage and support volunteers, fostering a positive, motivated team environment.

· Ensure sound administration, budget management, record-keeping, and compliance with accounting procedures and reporting requirements.

· Monitor and evaluate youth space delivery to meet budget targets, legislative compliance, and youth and community needs.

Strategy and Coordination

· Work closely with the Casino Youth Space Steering Committee to oversee strategic operations.

· Develop, monitor, and deliver youth space business plans, achieving set targets.

· Coordinate youth activities run by volunteers, youth workers, and external providers, ensuring alignment with the overall strategic vision.

· Develop innovative ideas to enhance service delivery for young people in line with the strategic direction of the Youth Space.

Engagement and Community Building

· Engage young people’s voices and encourage active participation to ensure programs reflect their needs.

· Build relationships with community groups, key stakeholders, and funding bodies, including State & Federal Governments and funding agencies.

· Liaise with local schools, community organisations, community health agencies, police, sporting clubs, and peak bodies to develop networks and partnerships.

Funding and Partnerships

· Identify potential funding streams through research, networking, and government bulletins.

· Work with national, regional, and local agencies to develop strategies and programs that benefit the Casino Youth Space.

· Administer funds according to the approved budget and secure financial sustainability for programs and services.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

· Demonstrated experience in service delivery, program development, and coordination.

· Proven ability to manage budgets, volunteers, and operations effectively.

· Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

· Knowledge of relevant legislation and funding sources.

· Ability to engage and empower young people while fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

Desirable

· Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Management, Community Development, or a related field.
