The role is part of the Office Infrastructure Deployment (OID) team that is a follow-the-sun global team of network infrastructure deployment engineers that works on the turn-up of new Amazon corporate offices, post-occupancy projects like office expansions or decommissions, life cycle replacement projects (hardware & software refreshes) and strategic security networking initiatives that will impact and touch every Amazon employee working in a corporate office environment.
All of OID’s work is executed remotely and you will collaborate with other teams within Amazon like AWS Networking, IT Services, Technical Program Managers and Low Voltage Contractors (LVC’s). You will be an integral part of the APAC OID team that is based in Sydney. The role will require you to work from our state of the art corporate offices in the heart of Sydney CBD. The office is well connected to public transport hubs in the Sydney CBD.

Key job responsibilities
- Create and implement configuration changes on the network, during scheduled change management windows.
- Troubleshoot networking, routing and inter connectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configurations.
- Collaborate with our partners within Amazon like AWS Networking, IT Services, Technical Program Managers and Low Voltage Contractors (LVC’s) to deploy changes.
- Create and review documentation and process regarding network implementation/deployments, recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc.
Requirements:
- BS/BE/BTech in Information Systems, Computer Science or other Engineering disciplines or similar relevant educational background.- 3+ years of enterprise experience as a technician or engineer; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CCNA certification or similar/equivalent networking certifications.- Experience as a network engineer in a corporate office environment, experience with physical infrastructure installations and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of infrastructure technologies, including Routers and Switches as well as an understanding of common networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, VRF)
- Experience working with Cisco routers/switches/firewalls.
- Experience deploying or supporting Aruba or Cisco wireless network equipment.
- Basic scripting/programming with Python (preferred) and fundamental knowledge in version control (preferably Git Framework).
