BHJ has a long history as an international supplier of meat and fish raw materials for both food and pet food industries. BHJ is headquartered in Denmark and is a subsidiary of The Lauridsen Group, Inc. (LGI), a US company. BHJ have processing facilities and offices in Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and Australasia where we employ a total of more than 1200 employees.
A combination of Cool Offs rapid growth in the past decade along with the increased global connectivity provide through BHJ, demands that we continue to service our supply partners as efficiently and sustainably as possible. The Role:
Working as part of the Cool Off Operations team, the Senior Operator is responsible for leading our Production Operators within the facility in maintaining and improving safety, quality, and operational efficiencies. You will be a pragmatic, hands-on leader with high attention to detail with the willingness to adapt to change.
You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing process to ensure smooth, safe and efficient production of high-quality pet food ingredients. You will maintain accurate production records, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Collaborating with supervisors and other departments you will strive to meet production goals and resolve any issues that may arise during the production process.

Promote / ensure safety work practices and culture.

Ensure delivery of product on a right first-time basis meeting customer requirement.

Ensure high level of GMP and housekeeping is maintained at all times
Operational Accountabilities

Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources;

Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs through the production supervisor
Personnel Accountabilities

Accomplishes results by communicating job expectations, monitoring performance of the team, and filling in for the MDM operators and team leader as required

Maintains staff by orienting, and training employees

Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

Resolves personnel problems by referring them to the appropriate team leader or production supervisor for action
Skills Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
-
Current Forklift License
-
Prior GMP & HACCP experience (formal qualifications not essential)
-
Sound computer skills including MS Office suite
-
High degree of accuracy and excellent problem-solving skills
-
2-3 years previous production experience
-
Ability to motivate others to meet demands established by the schedule

Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and management.
