QBuild is seeking qualified Electricians to join our SEQ Teams. Become part of a department committed to helping people all over Queensland. Help us build and maintain government-owned assets, including schools, social housing, and healthcare facilities. QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.

Mandatory Requirements
- Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence (Electrical Mechanic minimum).
- Electrical trade certificate/qualification (Certificate III Electrotechnology minimum).
- Current cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and low voltage rescue certificate.
- Current Construction Industry White Card.
- Current Queensland “C” class driver's licence or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of current work health, safety, and environmental legislation and codes of practice, including AS/NZ3000 (The Wiring Rules), Electrical Safety Act 2002, Electrical Safety Regulations 2013, and applicable Electrical Codes of Practice 2013.
- Ability to understand and perform electrical work, using testing equipment and safety gear for both construction and maintenance services.
About the role
You In this role, you will support QBuild's mission to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing essential services for government-owned assets, including construction, maintenance, and restoration. Additionally, you will contribute to the government's response to disaster events and help train the next generation of tradespeople.
Duties and skills involved:
- Interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Demonstrate proficiency in office and email applications such as Microsoft Word and Outlook; input data using computers or hand-held devices.
- Understand safe working methods, particularly for asbestos, lead-based products, and other high-risk construction work.
- Comply with all WHS legislation and site rules, including daily risk assessments and hazard identification.
- Demonstrate responsibility for your health, safety, and wellbeing, ensuring your actions don't negatively impact others.
- Foster a diverse, equitable, and safe workplace with a strong customer focus.
- Train, mentor, and provide support to apprentices at all levels.
Additional information
- Distant work may involve overnight stays of up to 3 weeks.
- Safety clothing and PPE will be provided and must be worn.
- You may be asked to take on team leader or foreperson roles as needed.
- Power tools will be provided as required.
- Use of a private vehicle or a potential QBuild vehicle will follow motor vehicle policies. Note: A home-garaged QBuild vehicle is not guaranteed.
