Work as a member of the Orthopaedic Technician Team in collaboration with the Treating Medical Officers, Nurse Practitioners and Allied Health in the delivery of safe, efficient and effective orthopaedic services to patients/clients
The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Orthopaedic Technician to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Application, removal and modification of casts and other orthopaedic treatment devices as directed
- Work as a member of the Orthopaedic Technician Team in the fulfilment of their duties delivering best practice procedures
- Assist and instruct patients and clients in the use of crutches and cast orthopaedic devices
- Maintain equipment and stock lines
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Completion of Certificate IV in Cast Technology or Equivalent Level 3 AIOT pathway
- Working with children check/Blue Card (GCH will cover cost)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $76 076 - $81 346 per annum
