About the role

Permanent part time opportunity to deliver high level social work clinical services, as a member of the multidisciplinary team to patients, families, and their carers to support timely patient discharge and optimise the psychosocial outcomes of their utilisation of health care services. This is a dedicated weekend role that provides a cross complex social work response to both Women's and Newborns Services and Surgical Services with a focus on crisis intervention, child protection and domestic violence and complex discharge planning.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • High level time management skills and ability to prioritise completing demands in a cross-facility context.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of working within a multidisciplinary team in the hospital setting and to work cooperatively and effectively with patients, their families, and caregivers.
  • Provide education and liaison to the multidisciplinary team around the role, scope and delivery of social work services.
