About this opportunity
Our Asset and Environmental Sustainability portfolio has an opportunity for an 6 X experienced Plant Operator to provide plant operations in road construction, road maintenance and labouring duties as directed.
The positions are based at multiple locations i.e. Beaudesert and Boonah but you may be required to work from any of Council’s offices or facilities within the Scenic Rim
Key responsibilities include:
- Operation of medium mechanical plant
- Carry out a pre-start safety checks and completion of fault report sheets.
- Operation of UHF radio equipment.
- Undertake daily general labouring duties in an efficient, effective and safe manner.
- Operate small plant safely and only after being inducted in the proper use of this plant.
- Comply with Council policies, procedures and instructions to deliver quality and safe services.
About you
- You will be required to have the following attributes:
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle under a Heavy Rigid (HR) Class License.
- Certificate of competency relevant to plant.
- Current card for General Construction Induction.
- Effective communication and numeracy skills including ability to liaise effectively with supervisors, the work team and the general public.
