About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Advisor . This role reports to the Health Safety and Environmental Superintendent, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees, contractors, and visitors on-site as well as providing leadership and guidance in safety practices, maintaining compliance with regulations, and fostering a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures

Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and address hazards

Facilitate risk assessments and develop safe work procedures

Provide training and safety inductions to employees and contractors

Monitor and report on safety performance, including investigations

Work closely with management to drive continuous improvement in health and safety practices
Role Requirements

Work Health & Safety Certificate IV (at minimum)
-
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar health and safety role, preferably within the mining industry

Strong knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards

Experience in conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations

Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels

A strong commitment to promoting safety and fostering a positive safety culture

Training and Assessment Certificate IV (desirable)

First Aid and CPR Certificate (desirable)

Full-time position offered on a 9:5 FIFO roster or 5:2 residential roster on King Island.
