About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Advisor . This role reports to the Health Safety and Environmental Superintendent, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees, contractors, and visitors on-site as well as providing leadership and guidance in safety practices, maintaining compliance with regulations, and fostering a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and address hazards

  • Facilitate risk assessments and develop safe work procedures

  • Provide training and safety inductions to employees and contractors

  • Monitor and report on safety performance, including investigations

  • Work closely with management to drive continuous improvement in health and safety practices


Role Requirements

  • Work Health & Safety Certificate IV (at minimum)

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar health and safety role, preferably within the mining industry

  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards

  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations

  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels

  • A strong commitment to promoting safety and fostering a positive safety culture

  • Training and Assessment Certificate IV (desirable)

  • First Aid and CPR Certificate (desirable)


Roster / Conditions

  • Flights to and from King Island (from Tasmania or Melbourne)

  • Camp and messing

  • Competitive rates

Full-time position offered on a 9:5 FIFO roster or 5:2 residential roster on King Island.
