The exceptional opportunity has arisen for a visionary leader to join SAPOL in the critically important, challenging and immensely rewarding position of Executive Director, Information Systems and Technology (IS&T).

Reporting to the Commissioner of Police and contributing as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will be responsible for a significant budget and workforce of over 300 people including sworn officers, civilians and contractors; delivering cutting edge, transformative, and business as usual programs, services and initiatives which impact SAPOL’s 6000+ employees, in an evolving, dynamic, 24x7 service delivery environment. You will also lead the identification of interconnected trends and new challenges which impact SAPOL, and harness technology-based opportunities for disruption, prevention, enforcement, criminal investigation and prosecution.

We seek a senior executive who not only has deep expertise in contemporary and emerging IS&T technologies, themes and best-practices, but also a highly capable, outstanding leader who will contribute to the ELT on a range of broader topics which will ultimately impact SAPOL’s mission to deliver safer communities.

It is expected that applicants will have a demonstrable track record of delivering wide-ranging programs, managing significant human, financial and material resources in a competitive landscape, and the agility to move rapidly in an evolving and constant change environment, operating with true integrity always, while establishing and sustaining core relationships across government, interstate and international counterparts, suppliers, service providers and other key stakeholders.
