The Australian and New Zealand Dialysis and Transplant (ANZDATA) Registry Group has an exciting opportunity available for a Registry General Manager to join the team. The Registry General Manager is a senior position, overseeing the clinical quality, safety and operations for group of clinical quality registries hosted by SAHMRI. These include the ANZDATA Registry, ANZOD, the ANZ Lung Transplant Registry, the ANZ Heart Transplant Registry, and the ANZ Eye and Tissue Registry. The role will operate with high-level management and strategic leadership to meet registry deliverables, inform clinical practice improvement and facilitate other Registry based research projects.

The position will interact with a wide range of stakeholders including funders, government agencies, professional associations and members of health care teams across various agencies within Australian and New Zealand from whom data is provided.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing operational and professional leadership to and for project managers, administrative and statistical personnel, stakeholders and contributors of data

  • Leading and developing projects including defining registry project tasks, scheduling project timeline/s, monitoring and reporting progress and supporting outcome/s activities of registry project.

  • Ensuring the efficient and effective management of the administrative, program and statistical services

  • Ensuring the provision of guidance and procedures for data management, data integration and systems development.

  • Provision of mentoring to staff within the organisation and trains individuals within the organisation, resourcing suitably

  • Active participation in relevant internal and external advisory groups, expert panels, working groups, and/or committees within the span of the appointment

  • Provision of accurate and timely reporting of information pertaining to the relevant organ and transplant outcome registries, particularly in response to requests from contributing renal units, other collaborating parties and government

  • Identification of areas for improvement, leading quality improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with clinical standards and regulations.

  • Operation within budget, ensuring financial sustainability and operational efficiency.

  • Provision of oversight of resourcing issues as they affect the Registry, including staff performance and financial management.

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:

  • Essential requirement: Relevant degree in science, health science, public health or related field

  • Desirable: relevant higher qualification in data management, analysis, relevant clinical area

  • Experience (5+ years) as a leader or manager in the health care industry.

  • Experience in managing and leading complex projects

  • Experience in leading services or organisations through times of extensive change

  • Experience in quality improvement initiatives in health care settings

  • Relevant experience in large observational data sets

  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.

  • Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure and prioritise workloads.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a service including resource management.

  • Ability to collaborate with a small team, researchers, and staff of other institutions in the health care system and other organisations.

  • Strong management, leadership and communications skills as well as a strict adherence to ethical business and research practices

  • Has supervised and provided mentorship to members of a multidisciplinary teams

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience applying contemporary management processes and practices of complex data

  • Ability to explain and interpret results of analyses to others

  • Demonstrate ability in interpreting and writing statistical sections of research papers or other reports

Special Requirements

  • Some out of hours work may be required.

  • DCSI Pre-employment screening may be required.

  • Some travel interstate or overseas
