Role Overview
The Sustainability Advisor supports the development and implementation of the sustainability strategy for Flinders Port Holdings. This role will work with stakeholders across the business to integrate sustainable practices, enhance operational efficiency, and promote a culture of sustainability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of Flinders Port Holdings sustainability strategy, materiality reviews, annual plans and policies;
- Run social sustainability and environment projects and initiatives, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs, provide advice and foster a culture of continuous improvement;
- Provide technical advice across a variety of sustainability areas including but not limited to: climate adaptation and mitigation, carbon accounting and nature and biodiversity;
- Collaborate with the Sustainability Analyst regarding progress towards sustainability commitments, identify opportunities for improve the sustainability performance of the Group and develop actionable plans to address them; and
- Ensure compliance with relevant sustainability standards and reporting frameworks.
About you
Your skills and experience will include;
- Bachelor of Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent level of skills and knowledge gained through experience;
- Proven track record of successfully implementing sustainability initiatives in a corporate setting; and
- Compliance and risk management experience;
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights;
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels; and
- Knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, GRESB, Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards) and environmental regulations.
