Our Purpose

The Adelaide Production and Treatment Alliance is a partnership with SA Water and is responsible for operating and maintaining five water treatment plans and five wastewater treatment plants that deliver services to the Adelaide Metropolitan regions.

Working in partnership with SA Water as one brand and one team, the Adelaide Production & Treatment Alliance (P&T Alliance) will enable a safe and engaged workforce to meet SA Water’s customer service targets and regulated responsibilities at the lowest sustainable cost for Adelaide customers. With improved integration and collaboration, the P&T Alliance team combines expertise from SUEZ and SA Water under a shared responsibility structure to ensure delivery of trusted water services our community needs now and into the future.

Our Opportunity

As a member of the Customer Water Quality Group, the Water Quality Coordinator will participate in several but not necessarily all the group’s required functions.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Support ASD P&T Alliance operations to achieve optimal water performance and compliance with ADWG and SDWA requirements, including incident management and reporting.
  • Manage recycled water plans, licences, and water quality monitoring programs, ensuring timely data collection and corrective actions for incidents.
  • Provide proactive advice and improvements for water quality systems, including trend analysis and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct audits, review water quality documentation, and ensure adherence to Drinking Water Quality Management Systems and operational standards.
  • Support training, lab quality control, and coordination of disinfection processes, including chlorination and mains disinfection.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, especially health-related water quality concerns, and assist with customer data requests and internal support services.
  • Provide a first level on-call support for water quality incidents, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when necessary.

We are seeking

  • Understanding of water or wastewater quality management principles.
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise.
  • Current unrestricted driver’s licence

Desirable skills

  • Experience in operating water treatment, wastewater treatment, or reuse treatment processes.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and auditing.
  • Proficient in data manipulation and management, with some statistical knowledge.
  • Relevant technical qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering and/or Science (preferred).
  • Relevant Trade Certificate and industry experience in the industrial sector (desired).
