Description:
We (Icare and Support) are an NDIS registered service provider specialising in delivering quality, individualised and flexible support services to the young and old people living with a disability.
We are looking for a team of `Disability Support Staff` to work with our participants across various locations within the greater Adelaide metropolitan area. The ideal worker must be available for consistent work adhering to our rotating roster.
Tasks and responsibilities of the support workers will broadly include but not limited to the following:
- Support the development of daily living skills and capacity for self-care
- Providing timely and accurate case notes and maintaining records and documentation in line with NDIS and organisational requirements..
- Develop professional relationships with individuals, their families and others stakeholders in the community
- Provide support to work towards individual goals
- Assist and monitor medications and report any changes or concerns as required.
- This hands-on position requires active individuals who are dedicated to building genuine relationships with both participants and co-workers.
- Other tasks as advised by the team supervisor to ensure appropriate level of care to our participants.

Essential qualifications/trainings for the role:
Minimum - Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent required
Mealtime preparation and Delivery
Training and experience with high intensity care and support
Excellent written and verbal communication and cultural sensitivity
Must be able to commit to a 24x7 rotating roster
Desirable for the role
At least 2 years’ experience working with clients with special needs/disabilities
Knowledge and competency in enteral (peg) feeding, medication and dysphagia management
Knowledge and competency in urinary catheter management
Bowel Care Management
Medication Administration Accreditation
Hold a current and valid full South Australian driver license
Working knowledge of digital rostering and CRM systems
