ammjohn seek a skilled Structural & Mechanical Design Co-ordinator with expertise in multiple AutoDesk Software Packages.
ammjohn is a multi-disciplined engineering company offering a comprehensive service that encompasses the entire project life cycle from pre-feasibility and construction, through commissioning to asset maintenance and optimisation.
Your experience and deep understanding of equipment function and placement in mining process plants, cement and bulk materials handling industries will be highly valued.
Key tasks of this role include:
- Lead our clients and our internal engineering teams to develop comprehensive 3D models and drawings, predominantly for bankable feasibility studies and project price estimating.
- Create 3D designs from complex, multidiscipline engineering concepts.
- Coordinate, civil, structural, mechanical models as well as information from third parties in a variety of formats.
- Contribute to project planning and design discussions to optimise efficiency and functionality.
- Act as a design manager on multiple projects, ensuring alignment with PFD, P&ID, 3D models.
- Facilitate design reviews and delegate tasks to the team for efficient action.
- Provide technical problem solving and advice for projects.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate interpretation of project specifications.
- Review and update technical drawings based on design changes and project requirements.
- Undertake quality reviews to ensure designs meet industry best practices and safety standards.
- Maintain organised records of project designs, revisions, and documentation.
- Actively promote safety awareness and environmental responsibility amongst the company and contract personnel.
The following attributes will be highly regarded:
- 5+ years of industry experience in mining, materials processing, energy and chemicals.
- Proficiency in 3D modelling programs such as Revit, AutoCAD and Inventor.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical equipment to review designs for operability and maintainability.
- Strong understanding of Australian standards, regulations, and best practices in mechanical drafting.
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
- Team player, with capacity to work and liaise effectively with a range of technical and engineering colleagues and clients.
- Excellent prioritisation, time management and task delegation skills, especially relating to working on multiple projects with multiple project leaders.
