We’re now looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working autonomously, loves numbers, and values flexibility in their role.
The Role:
As our Bookkeeper, you'll play a vital role in supporting our clients and internal team with high-quality financial recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance support. You’ll be working alongside our business consultants to help ensure our clients’ financials are accurate, up to date, and aligned with their broader business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end bookkeeping for a variety of small business clients (mainly tradies).
- Bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Accounts payable and receivable management.
- Payroll processing (including STP, superannuation, and leave accruals).
- BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement support.
- Financial reporting and cash flow assistance.
- Liaising with clients, ATO, and external accountants as needed.
- Supporting the business with internal financial tracking and reporting.
- Maintaining accurate records in Xero (and other cloud accounting systems as required).
About You:
You’re an experienced bookkeeper who takes pride in accuracy and compliance, while also understanding the real-world needs of small business owners. You enjoy solving problems, streamlining processes, and helping tradies understand their numbers without the jargon.
You will also have:
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping role (minimum 2 years preferred).
- Proficiency in Xero is essential; experience with other platforms is a bonus.
- Strong understanding of GST, payroll, and ATO compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- A warm, approachable communication style and ability to work with tradies and small business owners.
- BAS Agent registration (or working towards it) is highly desirable but not essential.
Hours & Flexibility:
This is a part-time role , with flexible hours to suit your lifestyle—perfect for someone balancing work with family or other commitments. Approximately 15–25 hours per week , with the option to work across 2–4 days, depending on your availability.
Remote or hybrid work options are available for the right candidate. Ideally, you’re based in South Australia or understand the local small business landscape, but we’re open to applicants from across Australia.
