About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee the Prill Production and Ammonium Nitrate Emulsion plants, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role is responsible for leading a large team, maintaining high safety standards, optimising plant performance, and driving continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating strong safety leadership in day to day activities and driving a culture where safety is prioritised in all practices
- Contributing to the Ammonia/Ammonium Nitrate business plan, evaluating process development and reviewing operating procedures
- Leading, mentoring, training and coaching the production team to increase teamwork, collaboration and performance
- Driving continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies and innovative opportunities within the business
- Ensuring good cost control specifically in relation to contracted labour and services.
- Working with external groups including external design teams, contractors, regulatory bodies and suppliers.
Is this role for you?
You have well-developed leadership skills with experience managing large operational teams, and a proven ability to drive a high performance culture by leveraging company values. You possess:
- Significant experience in an operations (production and processing) environment with demonstrated ability to identify and deliver operational improvements.
- An understanding of business objectives and the ability to balance operational, technical and commercial drivers in decision making.
- Working knowledge of process plant operation with exposure to budgeting and cost control.
- Value and drive a safety culture that responds proactively to safety issues underpinned by knowledge of Safe Work methods and practices;
- Role model inclusive behaviour and foster an environment that values diversity.
- Demonstrate a customer centric approach and the ability to hold teams and individuals accountable for meeting customer requirements
