About Us:

The Serious Offenders Act 2018 sets out a civil, non-punitive scheme that provides for the ongoing supervision or detention of serious sex offenders and serious violent offenders who have completed their prison sentence and pose an unacceptable risk of committing further offences. Correction Victoria's end-to-end management and delivery of services to serious offenders on post-sentence orders occurs through a multi-faceted governance and operating model.

The Post Sentence Branch, within the Community Operations and Offender Services Division of Corrections Victoria, provides central oversight and governance of the post sentence scheme and offenders subject to post sentence orders.

Corella Place is a Transitional Accommodation Facility that is staffed 24/7 to enhance the protection of the community by providing accommodation for sex offenders when suitable accommodation elsewhere in the community is not available. Corella Place operates at two sites at Warrak Rd, Ararat.

About the Role:

The Justice Officer role provides accurate and timely administrative and support services to Corella Place and staff. The role has a strong focus on service delivery to clients, internal and external stakeholders and the public.

Client services may include responding to resident enquiries, providing information and assistance with matters relating to DJR portfolio, reception duties, coordinating schedules for program areas and delivery of services for residents.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Providing administrative support and client services relevant to the location.
  • Providing information and assistance to clients, internal and external stakeholders and the public including the collation, review, and processing of applications.
  • Providing reception and telephone responses for the location.
  • Performing a range of financial duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash and banking.

About You:

As an ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Well-developed computer literacy.
  • Experience in range of finance related tasks including purchasing and accounts payable is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse issues and determine priorities in an environment of tight and conflicting deadlines, to take initiative and work under limited direction.
