About the RoleWe are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Just Jeans Kidswear team.
Reporting to the Product Manager, this integral role works closely with the Buying and QA team to ensure that each garment is created to the design specifications and quality standards of the Group and in line with all testing requirements for Kidswear.
Responsibilities- Fit and measure original samples and recommend changes based on fabric suitability
- Ensure all products meet testing and compliance standards
- Create CAD’s for new product designs in line with Product Manager’s requirements
- Issue tech packs for suppliers' costing and initial sampling including clear workmanship, measurements and testing requirements
- Chair fit sessions ensuring Product Manager’s comments and QA comments are collated for the supplier, whilst maintaining fit and workmanship consistency
- Process Fit comments and manage workload to meet critical path KPI’s
- Develop tools and communication to enhance suppliers’ capabilities and fast track approval processes
- Manage Blocks and Fit consistency whilst driving continuous product improvement
- Sound fabric knowledge with ability to read and approve Lab test reports
- Assign labelling care and content ensuring to conform with legal and mandatory standards
- Provide quality advice to Product Managers on expected outcome in bulk production and suitability of fabric through working closely with suppliers
- Proactive solution-based approach with suppliers & product team
- Conduct wash and wear tests to report back on outcomes as required
- Conduct regular Store audits and manage returns process
- Ability to travel overseas when required
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience as a Garment Tech 2-3 years within the fashion industry
- Strong understanding of Children's apparel and accessories safety requirements and guidelines
- Knowledge and understanding of fabric testing for Children's apparel & accessories
- Strong understanding of testing and compliance standards for kidswear
- Tertiary qualifications in Design & Production are advantageous
- Sound knowledge of pattern making and the quality assurance processes
- Ability to use Adobe Illustrator to create and update garment design CADs
- Confident using Excel to create tech packs and complete fit comments
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective time management and prioritisation skills
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with key functions within the business
