Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of factory automation and improvements, including concept development, design, specifications, documentation, scheduling, machine refurbishment, and commissioning.
- Supervise a team of internal tradespeople, technicians, and external contractors (both locally and internationally), ensuring smooth project completion.
- Oversee the installation of new and modified machinery, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.
- Provide hands-on support in the installation and commissioning processes.
- Create and maintain comprehensive mechanical/electrical documentation for commissioning and future maintenance.
- Contribute to the procurement of necessary parts, working closely with the Procurement Team to source from both local and international markets.
- Communicate effectively with all team members, ensuring smooth information flow and supporting internal training processes led by Production Trainers and Team Leaders.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- Tertiary qualifications in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
- Proficiency in using and interpreting AutoCAD (2D & 3D) for design and technical planning.
- Proven experience in leading projects within an engineering/manufacturing environment, especially with 24/7 continuous production lines .
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing small teams and coordinating cross-functional activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable terms for staff at all levels.
- Knowledge and experience in plant automation and machinery upgrades.
