Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all aspects of factory automation and improvements, including concept development, design, specifications, documentation, scheduling, machine refurbishment, and commissioning.
  • Supervise a team of internal tradespeople, technicians, and external contractors (both locally and internationally), ensuring smooth project completion.
  • Oversee the installation of new and modified machinery, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.
  • Provide hands-on support in the installation and commissioning processes.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive mechanical/electrical documentation for commissioning and future maintenance.
  • Contribute to the procurement of necessary parts, working closely with the Procurement Team to source from both local and international markets.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members, ensuring smooth information flow and supporting internal training processes led by Production Trainers and Team Leaders.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Tertiary qualifications in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
  • Proficiency in using and interpreting AutoCAD (2D & 3D) for design and technical planning.
  • Proven experience in leading projects within an engineering/manufacturing environment, especially with 24/7 continuous production lines .
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing small teams and coordinating cross-functional activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable terms for staff at all levels.
  • Knowledge and experience in plant automation and machinery upgrades.
