Asset Inspector – Maintenance Programmer

Description:

Council is seeking a self-motivated and experienced professional to fill this important role within Council.

The primary purpose of the position is:

  • To support the asset management and operations teams to deliver proactive maintenance of assets and appropriate, timely and efficient remedying of defects in order to ensure public safety and optimise the useful life of assets including roads, footpaths, kerb and gutter, drainage (including underground), street furnishings, signs, water and wastewater and buildings.
  • Support keeping Council’s asset management system asset and condition data up-to-date.
  • To support the investigation of incidents, accidents and complaints related to Council infrastructure.

Qualifications & Experience

  • The successful applicant will possess excellent interpersonal skills with the general public and fellow employees and possess well-developed written and oral communication skills.
  • A Certification IV in a relevant trade or extensive experience in a similar role is essential with at least four years' practical experience in the field with managing roads and/or building infrastructure assets.
  • The successful candidate will have the ability to use a range of computer-based systems.

Salary & Conditions

  • A salary of between $77,079.60 to $86,352.20 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation will be offered (depending on qualifications and experience).
  • This permanent position is 35 hours per week, with a monthly rostered day off.
  • Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award .
  • Prior to commencement the successful applicant will be required to undergo a Pre-Employment Functional Assessment which includes an Alcohol and Other Drug Screening .
