Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead the AR functions, driving accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial controls in a fast-paced and complex environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented finance professional to make an impact and manage the accounts receivable function at one of Australia’s busiest transport hubs. You’ll not only oversee key financial operations but also collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance processes and maintain strong financial relationships.

If you thrive in a high-energy environment and are passionate about delivering excellence in financial operations, we’d love to hear from you!

In the role, you will

  • Oversee end-to-end AR processes, ensuring timely and accurate collections.
  • Lead and mentor a team managing daily AR operations, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and credit management.
  • Ensure accurate monthly reconciliations, account allocations, and reporting in line with company policies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and uphold compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Address and resolve escalated queries, discrepancies, and issues with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring alignment with corporate financial reporting requirements.

About You

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in AR management, preferably within a large organization or the aviation/transport industry.
  • Proven experience leading and managing high performance teams.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and software (e.g., Oracle, Commbiz) along with strong Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for process improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills to foster collaboration and resolve issues effectively.
  • A detail-oriented and team-focused approach, ensuring accuracy and a positive work environment.
