Your role

As an Aircraft Armament Technician in the Air Force, you’ll maintain and handle aircraft weapon systems on advanced aircraft such as the F-35A Lightning II, E/A-18 Growler and F/A-18F Super Hornet. You’ll work on a variety of their armament components, which are a combination of electronic, electrical, or mechanical. You’ll also handle their ejection seat systems and prepare and load various air-launched munitions.

Your duties may include:

  • Aircraft launch and recovery duties.
  • Maintenance and testing of computer and weapon armament systems.
  • Fault diagnostics.
  • Inspection, removal, and installation of aircraft components.
  • Working with explosives.
  • Preparing and loading missiles, bombs and torpedoes onto aircraft.
  • Preparing and using aircraft support equipment.

Salary

Upon completion of initial military and employment training, you will enjoy a salary package starting from $83,610.

Location

Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley, Williamtown, or Edinburgh.
