We are seeking a skilled and experienced Metal Machinist to join our growing team at 6 Ogilvies Rd, Mansfield VIC 3722. This role involves custom fabrication, machining, and modification of vehicle components and accessories, ensuring peak durability and performance for off-road, marine, and winter sports applications.
Role Overview:
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to identify required materials, determine optimal machining methods, establish precise measurements, and set machine parameters for accurate fabrication.
* Cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines to ensure functionality and reliability in off-road and heavy-duty vehicle applications, optimizing performance in demanding conditions.
* Machining and modifying metal components for off-road vehicles, marine equipment, and adventure gear.
* Assembling and fitting fabricated metal parts into custom vehicle builds, ensuring precision and durability.
* Inspecting and testing fabricated components for accuracy, clearance, and fit using precision measuring instruments.
* Operating CNC and manual machining tools to shape and form metal and castings to precise tolerances, including cutting, grinding, drilling, and shaping components for rugged vehicle modifications, ensuring optimal performance for off-road applications.
* Custom fabricating and modifying accessories such as bull bars, roll cages, roof racks, and suspension components.
* Diagnosing faults and performing maintenance on fabricated parts and mechanical components.
* Assisting with on-site assembly and installation of custom parts and equipment when required.
Your Skills & Experience:
To be successful in the role of Metal Machinist, you will have a high level of attention to detail and possess:
* A Certificate in a relevant field with at least one year of experience or 5 years of relevant work experience.
* Proven ability to meet critical deadlines.
* Ability to impart knowledge of systems, procedures, and policies to support staff.
* Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
Benefits:
We offer a competitive remuneration package, including an annual salary of AU$80,000 plus superannuation, for a full-time permanent position comprising 38 hours per week.
