This company is Australia’s leading integrated steel manufacturer, distributor, and recycler, with a nationwide presence supporting construction, infrastructure, and mining sectors.
Overview:
A crane inspector is responsible for inspecting, testing, and evaluating cranes to ensure they meet safety regulations and operational standards. Their duties include checking structural integrity, mechanical components, and electrical systems, identifying wear or damage, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. You will focus on documenting your findings & recommending repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Inspections – Perform routine and detailed inspections of bridge & gantry cranes to assess safety and compliance.
Identify Defects & Wear – Check for structural damage, mechanical wear, and electrical faults that could affect performance.
Ensure Compliance – Assess equipment based on Australian and industry safety regulations and standards.
Document Findings – Prepare inspection reports, log issues, and recommend necessary repairs & corrective maintenance.
Advise on Repairs & Maintenance – Work with maintenance teams to prioritise repairs and preventive maintenance plans.
Background:
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
- Previous experience working with Bridge and Gantry Cranes
- Must have computer literacy & ability to write reports
- A positive can do attitude & able to take direction
- Work life balance – ability to work flexible hours – Ability to Plan both work and personal commitments in advanced
- Interstate travel (nothing out of pocket)
