With a commitment to enhancing the country’s renewable energy capacity, they are expanding their technical team to strengthen grid connection efforts for large-scale renewable energy projects.The Engineering team is seeking a Senior Grid Engineer to manage grid connection processes, perform technical assessments, and liaise with stakeholders to ensure efficient grid integration for wind, solar, and BESS projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in securing grid connections and supporting the operational success of these renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the grid connection process for utility-scale wind, solar, and BESS projects, ensuring compliance with the National Electricity Rules (NER).
- Perform grid studies and assessments using modelling tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, and PowerFactory to ensure grid stability and reliability.
- Liaise with transmission and distribution network service providers (TNSPs and DNSPs), as well as AEMO, to secure grid connection approvals.
- Provide technical expertise in grid modelling, simulation, and power system analysis to optimise renewable energy project performance.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of grid connection applications, negotiating technical requirements with network service providers.
- Support the technical review of project designs to ensure they meet Australian grid standards and connection requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align project objectives with grid connection needs.
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and new developments in grid connection standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in grid connection and integration for renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and BESS.
- Strong understanding of Australian grid standards, including the National Electricity Rules (NER).
- Proficiency in grid modelling tools (PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory).
- Experience working with TNSPs, DNSPs, and AEMO on grid connection projects in Australia.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Work Environment:
