As part of their expanding operations in Australia, they are seeking a Project Development Manager to oversee the planning, development, and execution of renewable energy projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives, regulatory requirements, and market demands.
About the Role

As a Project Development Manager , you will be responsible for driving the development of both grid-connected and non-grid connected renewable energy assets. This includes the management of site selection, regulatory approvals, project design, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution.
You will take ownership of the entire project development cycle, from early-stage planning through to commercial operation.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Project Development & Delivery : Lead the development of grid and non-grid connected renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and energy storage systems, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Site Selection & Feasibility : Conduct thorough site evaluations and assessments for renewable energy projects, considering factors such as environmental, technical, and commercial feasibility.
  • Regulatory & Permitting : Lead the permitting and regulatory approval processes for new projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, utilities, developers, contractors, and local communities, to ensure project alignment and secure necessary approvals.
  • Project Planning & Risk Management : Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate closely with internal teams, including engineering, finance, legal, and operations, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Market Analysis & Strategy : Keep abreast of market trends, policy changes, and technological advancements in the renewable energy sector to inform project development strategies.
  • Reporting & Documentation : Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, budgets, and risk management plans. Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders on project status.
Qualifications & Experience :
  • Experience : A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project development within the renewable energy sector, with specific expertise in grid and non-grid connected energy projects.
  • Project Management : Strong experience in managing the full project lifecycle, including site acquisition, permitting, and project financing.
  • Industry Expertise : Proven knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, and energy storage systems. Familiarity with the regulatory landscape and approval processes for renewable energy projects in Australia.
  • Leadership & Communication : Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
  • Education : A degree in engineering, renewable energy, environmental science, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills : Familiarity with project development software, financial modelling, and risk management tools.
