We're hiring an Interaction Designer to craft impactful, accessible experiences. You'll collaborate with designers, technologists, and strategists to bring them to life.About The Role
Our interaction designers define and design the aesthetic and interactions that make an experience accessible, engaging and usable; collaborating with technology, strategy, content and delivery to bring that experience to life. Your individual creative process is your most powerful tool.
You will guide users, collaborators and clients through that process, helping them through ambiguity toward clarity.
Your mission is to champion great visual, interaction and communication design on a complex multi-year program of work that will impact millions of Victorians and visitors.
You'll create and test prototypes, low-fidelity concepts, and beta-ready products. Your work is marked by a solid foundation of accessibility, eye for detail, and usability.
Your focus
- Working with clients, business analysts and developers to understand functional and user needs and translate them into accessible, usable interface design
- Crafting beautiful interfaces for any screen size
- Creating testable Figma prototypes from low fidelity through to detailed interactions using existing design systems
- Conducting usability testing and synthesising findings into clear, actionable recommendations to improve the usability of digital products
- Presenting and documenting design decisions based on a deep knowledge of usability heuristics and accessibility guidelines
You will demonstrate
- 2+ years working as part of a digital UI design and development team
- Proven skill in client management and human-centred design methods
- Proven skill designing for screens:
- Well structured designs for responsive interfaces
- An understanding of how typography, hierarchy, colour and space enhance usability
- Working with developers and business analysts to bring experiences to life
- Excellent written and verbal presentation capability
- Be legally able to work in Australia without restriction
- A passion for great user-centred interaction design, for digital and beyond
- Creative problem solving
- Client and stakeholder management skills
- A penchant for a collaborative, creative, supportive team culture
