The Opportunity

Roper Gulf Regional Council is looking for a full-time Grants Coordinator based in Katherine, NT .

This role is crucial in securing, managing, and administering grant funding that supports Council’s vital community services. Reporting to the Grants Manager, you will ensure compliance with funding agreements and work closely with program managers across various sectors.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Identifying and securing grant funding opportunities
  • Preparing, submitting, and managing grant applications
  • Ensuring compliance with grant funding contractual obligations
  • Preparing financial reports and liaising with finance teams
  • Supporting program managers with budget planning and grant administration
  • Monitoring and maintaining grant administration systems
  • Liaising with government agencies and non-government organisations to strengthen funding opportunities
  • Assisting with community grant programs and special purpose audits

What You'll Bring

To qualify, you will hold a Diploma (or higher qualification) in Finance or a related discipline , along with at least 2 years of relevant experience . A strong understanding of grant administration, financial planning, and compliance is essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Proven ability to secure and manage large-scale grants
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Indigenous communities and cultural considerations

Desirable:

  • Experience in local government or similar sectors
  • Prior experience working in finance-related positions
  • Background in cross-cultural community engagement

Please note: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Criminal History Check and must have an Australian Manual Drivers License.
