We are hiring Risk Analysts at EL1 & EL2 to review the Discretionary Appeals program and develop Procedural Instructions for aviation and maritime security. Candidates should have experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, and procedural writing. Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Functional Review: Undertake a review of the Discretionary Appeals program, including applications assessment processes, risk thresholds, and delegate decision-making.
  • Develop Procedural Instructions (PI): Create contemporary PIs and supporting materials (e.g., risk assessment methodology) aligned with the Department's Policy and Procedural Control Framework (PPCF).
  • Regulatory Support: Provide a risk assessment model supporting regulatory decisions under Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005 (ATS) and Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Regulations 2003 (MTOFS) for ASIC and MSIC approvals.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Qualifications/Experience in risk management.
  • Strong understanding of Aviation and Maritime Transport Security Act and relevant regulations.
  • Experience writing procedural instructions in line with Department of Home Affairs PPCF.
  • Knowledge of security threats related to unlawful interference and organized crime in the transport sector.

  • A can-do attitude and the ability to adapt in a dynamic regulatory environment.
