The Regulation Directorate sits within the Transport Policy and Regulation Division and is responsible for driving the Government’s regulation and policy initiatives and ensuring appropriate compliance, behaviour and safe access across our transport networks.

The Opportunity
We are seeking two Prosecutions Support Officers to join our Prosecutions Team.

The Prosecutions Support Officer is accountable to the Team Leader, Prosecutions and will be responsible for:

Assisting with the efficient, accurate and timely administrative tasks related to offences under a range of transport legislation on behalf of the Department, assisting in the protection of public revenue, and anti-social behaviour across the public transport network, and contributing to road and marine safety incentives.

Undertaking reviews of statutory declarations and making recommendations to achieve appropriate outcomes. The Prosecutions Support Officer will work collaboratively with prosecution team members, internal and external stakeholders.

The Prosecutions Support Officer is expected to act in accordance with the ethics of the legal profession.

About You
The ideal candidate will possess strong typing skills, with the ability to type efficiently and accurately. You will need to demonstrate proficiency in managing priorities and meeting deadlines while handling demanding workloads and large volumes of work. Are you experienced in responding to sensitive and demanding public inquiries over the phone? A familiarity with the Department's TRUMPS database is also desirable.

Qualifications/Experience
Demonstrated work experience in a legal or similar environment is desirable.

Special Conditions
Prior to employment with the Department, the successful candidate will be required to provide a:

  • National Police Check (NPC) which must be renewed every three years.
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.

A Driver’s Licence is essential.

Tenure of Vacancy
One Ongoing appointment and,

One Temporary appointment for up to 12 months.

Remuneration
ASO2 - $58,709 to $63,154 pa + superannuation
