Description:
We are looking for a tech savvy, rugby union enthusiasts to join our team as a Match Coder - Rugby Union. The successful candidate will be responsible for tagging and recording live rugby union events using specialized software. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality data collection, ultimately supporting coaching staff, performance analysts, broadcasters and senior management in data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Coding: Accurately log and categorise in-game events (such as tackles, line-outs, scrums, and line-breaks) using our bespoke rugby union software.
- Real-Time Data Entry: Maintain meticulous attention to detail while inputting data during live matches, ensuring timely updates and consistent coding standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with broadcast commentators and coaching staff to refine data metrics, ensure alignment with coaching goals, and adapt coding protocols as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct post-match reviews to validate and correct data, guaranteeing the completeness and integrity of recorded events.
Requirements
- Rugby Expertise: Strong understanding of rugby union rules, team strategies, and gameplay terminology.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with data-entry or sports-coding software and the ability to learn new platforms quickly.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated accuracy in recording, verifying, and maintaining sports data during fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
