Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga Health Services are seeking a dedicated Medical Registrar to deliver high-quality clinical care and contribute to a multi-disciplinary team. This role involves providing exceptional patient care, actively participating in teaching and supervision of medical and midwifery students, interns, and junior medical staff, and engaging in research as required.

About the role:
Duties for the role will include:
- Provide clinical services under the direction of the Head of Unit, ensuring comprehensive patient management, accurate record-keeping, and effective communication to support continuity of care.
- Collaborate effectively with clinical and non-clinical colleagues, uphold patient rights, provide clear treatment information, and respond to patient and family concerns.
- Supervise and support junior medical officers, interns, and medical/midwifery students, acting as a mentor and actively contributing to their education and development.
- Engage in research activities, participate in academic discussions, and contribute to the supervision of postgraduate students
About you:
- MBBS or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia. Enrolled in a RANZCOG Training Program or equivalent overseas training program.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team, supervise junior staff, and demonstrate effective time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Dedication to high-quality patient care, clinical audits, teaching, and continuous medical education, acting as a role model for junior staff and students.
- Clinical competence in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at a fourth-year Registrar level, familiarity with research principles, and an understanding of National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12 month allocation as Obstetric Registrar will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.
