About The Role

Bandyup Women’s Prison is a maximum-security prison for women in the state, being an Assessment and Program Prison with a small Remand population, as well as providing complex mental health services in the metropolitan area. The prison recognises the unique needs of women in custody, such as their poor health, poor family contact, substance misuses, and histories of abuse, low levels of education and employment and their social dislocation. As a result, Bandyup provides a supportive custodial environment which is responsive to these complex needs.

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for the accurate processing of all personnel payroll and human resource related applications. The Human Resources Assistant assist the Coordinator Resource Management in the maintenance of day-to-day administration of Bandyup Women’s Prison rosters, and human resources. The position will provide information on matters including entitlements, procedures and general interpretation and application of relevant Awards, Agreements, and polices.

Permanent positions – To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Pool Recruitment

This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term and full time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies, with the Department of Justice for the duration of the pool.
