Adecco is recruiting for a hands-on and reliable Field Service Technician to join a dedicated service team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude who enjoys working independently, engaging with customers, and solving equipment issues on the go. Based out of Smeaton Grange, you’ll be covering South Sydney and occasionally traveling to regional areas.

Responsibilities
This role is ideal for a field-based technician who enjoys autonomy and customer interaction. You’ll be responsible for servicing and maintaining a wide range of industrial equipment, ensuring performance is optimised and downtime is minimised for your customers. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided, and while most of your work will be around Sydney’s southern suburbs, you’ll also be required to complete occasional regional day trips or overnight stays once or twice per month. Responsibilities include:
- Perform accurate diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a full range of industrial cleaning equipment
- Communicate regularly with the Service Manager and scheduler to assist with job coordination
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Microsoft FS365
- Monitor and control van stock levels with minimal variance during stocktakes
- Identify and report potential sales leads to the appropriate team members
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, delivering a high level of service
- Ensure all tools and equipment are safe and well-maintained
- Uphold the brand’s values and ensure a strong customer experience
Your Profile
We’re seeking to present technicians who enjoy problem-solving and working in the field. You will ideally bring:
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on mechanical or technical experience
- Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with electric, battery, and combustion engine-powered equipment
- Exposure to electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and engines
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- A background in the cleaning or forklift industry is advantageous
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight on occasion
