A bit about the role

To work with the community facilities planning team and recreation and open space planning team to strategically plan the public infrastructure needs of the City of Casey communities.

What you’ll deliver

  • Prepare and review strategic documents, land use plans, capital works projects, and grant applications to address community needs for open space, sport, recreation and community facilities.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and internal planning referrals for growth areas and infill developments, ensuring compliance with Council’s facility requirements.
  • Conduct research and analyse data on current planning trends to advise on open space and community facility issues.
  • Prepare project and Council reports with recommendations as directed by leadership.
  • Represent Council at official functions and meetings, both during and outside regular hours, to promote a positive public image.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications and / or some skills and experience in planning, data analysis, recreation and open space, community facilities planning, or a similar field.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in grant submission preparation and report writing.
  • Valid Victorian Drivers Licence.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check & Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
