Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

CCV
The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 12,000 criminal, common law, and commercial cases each year. The County Court has unlimited monetary jurisdiction in common law and commercial matters. In its criminal jurisdiction, the Court hears all indictable offences except treason, murder, and related offences.
There are a total of 80 Judges of the Court and over 300 staff, including judicial support staff. The County Court regularly conducts circuit sittings at 12 circuit courts situated in major centres throughout regional Victoria.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Court Registrar to join the Common Law Division at the County Court.
The Common Law Division hears and determines matters relating to personal injury, workplace, transport accident and medical negligence claims, and claims by a beneficiary under a will as well as other common law disputes, both in Melbourne and in regional Victoria. The Dvision also manages and determines quasi criminal matters in the Appeals and Post Sentence Applications (APSA) List.
The Division is governed by the Head of the Common Law Division, Judges in charge of the General, Serious Injury, Work Cover, Confiscaton, Institutional Liability, Medical, Family Property, Defamation and APS Lists and the Judicial Registrars.
The General Lists team is responsible for all administrative activitiies in the General, Serious Injury, Work Cover, Institutional Liability and Confiscations lists, as well as Court Listings for the Common Law Division.
About You
As a preferred candidate you will have experience within the Victorian court system and/or good knowledge of relevant legislation.
You will be able to demonstrate:
- experience building and maintaining relationships with a range of stakeholders
- well developed written and verbal communication
- high organisational abilities to complete a range of tasks with competing deadlines
- a solid understanding of case management systems and ability to maintain accurate records
