Wage Inspectorate Victoria is seeking a dedicated Policy Officer to support the delivery of new regulatory functions and help shape the future of employment law enforcement in Victoria.
The Role:
Reporting to the Principal Adviser – Strategy, Governance and Finance, the Policy Officer will play a key role in researching, developing, and implementing policies and procedures that support Wage Inspectorate Victoria's regulatory objectives.
The Policy Officer will conduct research, support the implementation of new functions, and assist in the development of policies and procedures. The role involves preparing briefing materials and reports, problem-solving complex issues under tight deadlines, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective policy development and implementation.
The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to critically analyse information, and a proven track record in stakeholder engagement. Excellent written communication skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of governance, regulatory frameworks, and public sector processes or the ability to acquire this knowledge quickly. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure are also required.
