What You'll Do
We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to lead and manage the IT team, ensuring the smooth operation of IT and communication systems. This role involves designing and managing IT infrastructure to meet organisational needs, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting complex issues. You will focus on reducing operational risk, improving server availability, and managing disaster recovery for ICT systems. In addition to overseeing the installation of system software updates, you will evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to long-term IT strategies. You will provide 1st to 4th level support to staff, manage operational budgets, and act as a business partner to other divisions, offering expert IT advice. Compliance with relevant regulations and ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive information are also key aspects of this role.
What You'll Bring
The successful candidate will hold a degree or Master's qualification in Computer Science or a related field, and substantial experience in a similar role, leading a team of specialists. You will have a strong background in IT management, with diverse technical skills and a customer-first approach. You should have strong project management skills (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile) and be proficient in ITIL processes. Your experience will include managing server and network operations, Business Applications, backup and disaster recovery, storage, firewalls, security, database management, and cloud solutions. Experience managing ICT service providers and providing day-to-day IT administration and user support is essential. Additionally, experience with ERP/CRM systems and working in a large company (100+ staff) is preferred. You will demonstrate a proven ability to manage major service delivery initiatives and projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and on time. Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be key, along with an ability to coach and manage technical team members. A focus on customer needs and clear communication and relationship management will be critical for success.
