About IPAC Ltd Illawarra Performing Arts Centre Ltd is a not-for-profit company operating Wollongong’s premier performing arts venue, the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre (IPAC), and also the Wollongong Town Hall. Under its Merrigong Theatre Company brand, the company presents a diverse annual season of theatre, dance and children’s programming, including work sourced from Australia’s finest performing arts companies, acclaimed international productions, and innovative contemporary work from new companies. Merrigong Theatre Company is also Australia’s largest regional producing theatre company, working with local artists in the creation of exciting contemporary theatre.The roleThe Company is now seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably experienced persons to serve on its board in a voluntary capacity. As a volunteer Board Director for IPAC Ltd, you will be passionate about performing arts and will bring skills and experience which will support the governance and strategic direction of the Company. You be available for approximately six meetings per year attending both in-person and online and be prepared to contribute for a term of three years. Board priority areasWe place artists and community at the heart of everything we do and deeply value the creativity and fresh perspectives that come from diverse lived experiences. We are currently seeking an individual with a legal background who is passionate about contributing to the arts sector. We are also warmly encouraging expressions of interest from those with experience across all business sectors, as well as those who bring valuable personal perspectives — including First Nations people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with disability, members of the LGBTIQ+ community and arts practitioners/artists.
