As an Account Executive in our Australian National Security and Defence team, you will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with key national security accounts in Australia. This high-visibility role requires you to serve as the primary point of contact between customers, strategic partners, and AWS leadership teams. You'll work closely with AWS Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS), Regional Services, and Amazon Security organizations, providing regular briefings to senior leadership up to SVP level. Success in this role demands compelling executive presence, deep understanding of the national security landscape, and the ability to coordinate complex solutions across AWS and partner organizations. Experience in enterprise technology sales within the national security sector and the ability to maintain appropriate security clearances are essential.
Key job responsibilities
• Drive adoption in a defined set of accounts to meet or exceed revenue targets
• Develop and execute against a strategic plan that leads to the creation and maintenance of a robust sales pipeline including opportunities in existing accounts as well as driving net new business in untapped customers
• Create & articulate compelling value propositions around AWS
• Analyze sales/metrics data from your accounts to help evolve your strategy
• Accelerate customer adoption through education and engagement
• Work with partners to manage joint selling opportunities
• Assist customer in identifying use cases for priority adoption of Amazon Web Services as well as best practices implementations
• Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts
A day in the life
A typical day involves navigating highly secure environments and complex stakeholder relationships at customer sites and collaborating with Solutions Architects to design solutions that meet stringent security requirements. Working in address compliance requirements and participate in classified briefings. A significant portion of the role involves coordinating with system integrators and independent software vendors who serve in the territory. Developing strategic proposals for large-scale migration and modernization programs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of direct sales or business development in software, cloud or SaaS markets selling to C-level executives experience
- 10+ years of business development, partner development, sales or alliances management experience
- Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of building profitable partner ecosystems experience
- Experience developing detailed go to market plans
